We do not provide lunches for our courses unless otherwise stated. However, we do provide light refreshments throughout the day. Exeter CVS is situated within easy walking distance of cafes, supermarkets and bakeries.

Exeter CVS is fully accessible to wheelchair users. Please notify our staff of any special requirements and we will try to meet your needs.

If you are unable to attend the training course you may send someone in your place or:

  • More than two weeks notice - full refund less £10 administration charge
  • Less than two weeks notice - full amount payable

Exeter CVS reserves the right to cancel or postpone courses and a full refund will be offered. In the event of a course being cancelled, at least 7 days’ notice will be given, unless circumstances are beyond our control. Please note that in the event of a course being cancelled on the day, Exeter CVS is unable to reimburse an organisation’s staff cover costs.

We are able to provide learning at extremely low rates because most of our courses are part-funded by organisations who have an interest in benefiting communities through adult learning.  These funders monitor our work to ensure their funding is being properly spent and we have to pass on some of your personal information to them.

Your contact details
By booking on an Exeter CVS course, you give your consent for us to store your contact details and:

  • get in touch with you if your course dates or times change, and to remind you of your course date and time by phone and/or email
  • register you with certifying bodies (for accredited courses)
  • contact you regarding other courses you may be interested in
  • allow our funders and/or our in-house researchers to contact you after the course for a verbal survey about your experience of learning with Exeter CVS - see full details below.

These are all required conditions of learning with Exeter CVS, please see full Data Processing policy below.

Information about your age, ability, ethnicity, work status and education
Our funders need to see evidence that we are making subsidised learning available to people of all backgrounds, abilities, genders and ages (this is also part of our commitment to diversity in everything we do).

Funders are also entitled to know that we are delivering their courses to the people the funding is meant for - eg, if a course is funded by a development agency who are looking to reduce youth unemployment, we will need to show them that a percentage of the learners on the course are under 30 and currently looking for work.

The statistics we gather for reporting to our funders are anonymous - for example, a funder would see the total number of learners on a course who have a disability, they would not be told that 'John Smith in Countess Wear has a disability'.
